Talking Tech: DISA’s Michael Sandell on Network Vulnerabilities
Networks are only as safe as their weakest link to the outside world. Vulnerability testing seeks to identify those weak spots and recommend solutions for patching and repairing systems to mitigate risk.
At the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), Michael Sandell directs the Vulnerability Assessments Branch. The office scans all the endpoints on its network, looks for known vulnerabilities, interprets results, and reports back to system owners on the risks they face and how to fix them.
In this video, Sandell explains the mission, the automated tools his office employs, and its challenges.
